Default Hero Battles Rewards - are they serious?

Is that seriously it? If so then Hero Battles are going to be 100% pointless and likely share the same fate as Jade Quarry.

Now it's clear why the devs and previews never mentioned anything about Hero Battle "rewards" until now - because to do so would have made it clear how Hero Battles are 100% pointless due to no decent reward would have not been in the best interest of Nightfall's sales.

Any chance the devs might do something about this to make Hero Battles actually have a point to playing?

More or less, except for the fact that you can get titles for them. Although titles are also not nearly enough of a reward for those areas. Those areas are likewise under-rewarded, but not nearly as bad as Hero Battles which doesn't even give titles.

What would be the point of a Hero battle title track? Meaning you pwn when you play alone? So what? If you're so good, then you won't need to join any group i guess.

The reward is PLAYING the game, as in, you know, enjoying it?

if gvg is pointless, why are so many guilds active in gvg?

20x20 = 400 + 100 for win, or 380 down to 0 for loss
This is a lot.

People play this game for FUN, not for points. 95% of the gvg players do it because they enjoy the overal feeling.

It is leechers that care only about points and it is the same bots that ruin the fort and the quarry.

Sure, why not. Those who are successful at "pwning" 1vs1 deserve decent rewards for that including titles and emotes or at least something that can be sold for gold ie Kurz/Lux Faction.

Rewards are very important in RPG games which is what Guild Wars is.

Having no decent rewards is what makes RPG games be not fun.

Hero Battles would be 100 billion times more fun when they start giving Fame and/or emotes and/or Titles and/or gold and/or sellable rare materials.

I played RA & TA a lot even though there were no rewards before Guild wars Factions was out....

Having no reward makes ANY game not fun.

But, doesn't victory count as a reward? If victory is worthless to you, then you're playing the wrong game. For example, before faction and titles were implemented, people still played RA. There were absolutely no rewards, but the feeling of success that people got from winning is what kept them playing.

What wouldn't be fun is when the game mechanics turn out to be shallow and predictable.

And, on a side note, I HATE the notion that RPGs are all about advancement and rewards. People seem to have forgotten the Role Playing portion of the genre.

If you want a reward, play PvE & get loot drops, the reward for PvP is being the WINNER! Beating an actual human team is a reward in itself.

That is an extremely crappy reward. Especially when one has done it tens of thousands of times already.

Maybe they should take away the Guild Ladder and Emotes and Titles too then, if beating an actual human team is a reward in itself.

But I think it would be better to instead increase rewards rather than taking them away or giving only half-baked, pointless rewards. Starting with Hero Battles.

points are easy to get. you get a point for each period you hold a shrine. its quite a lot if you ask me

have you heard of a thing called fun?

I am seriously tired of the "Give me rewards for playing a game" crowd. They dont care about actual gameplay, they only care about items and rewards or whatever they can get to feel "special" Play the game for the fun of just playing the game, for crying out loud.

obviously people who complain about this do not play PVP....and sorry to tell you, but hero battles are a form of PVP jsut like, RA, TA, and HA...
